Habit 1: Be Proactive

Proactive or Reactive...the Choice is Yours. Habit 1 challenges you to be a proactive person who makes decisions based on values, rather than a reactive person who bases decisions on impulse. Habit 1 also encourages you to "turn setbacks into triumphs". Refer to the stories about Mitchell and Sean on pages 56-58. Address the following concerns in your post. Post a response by Thursday September 10. Also, comment on at least 2 other classmates' posts by Friday Septmeber 11. Your original post is worth 10 points. Commenting on other classmates' posts is 5 points each. (20 total)

1. Explain how Mitchell and Sean have adopted a proactive attitudes in their situations.
2. What inspires you about their stories?
3. Select a setback in your life and describe how you can turn it into a triumph.

    2.the way they just keep going and the way they think.

    3. i forget to do things like put another roll of tp on the tp holder. I could add the the roll right away.

  5. 1. In habit one Mitchell and Sean have adopted a proactive attitude by in Mitchell's case, he didn't focus on all the things he couldn’t do, he focused on all the things he still could do. In Sean's case, he didn't grumble in self pity that someone else had to take his place, instead he supported his team even more.
    2. Their stories inspire me because they always keep a positive attitude even in the worst situations.
    3. Procrastinating on projects is a setback in my life. I could turn this into a triumph by doing the projects right when I get them.

  11. cody- i somtimes forget about the toilet paper to but its important to stay focoused and replace that roll of toilet paper.
